Available in Dutch

This weekend we launched the first Dutch version of My 30 Days Challenge. As visitor and user you can switch language on the top right. See the image below.

If you are Dutch and you find any typos let us know with the send feedback form. Writing text is not our value, we are good at building tools that make people happy.

We also changed the feedback part of our platform. Because of the growing numbers of spam we changed the feedback to a users feature. You can still add feedback but only if you are a user.

Concept: My30DC Trainer Community

We are designing a community tool based on My30DC for trainers. The goal is to create real habits for people after a training and to keep in touch with them. This tool will be integrated in the own website of the training agency and will be part of the business model to keep us alive. Below you’ll find the first concept design based on our relationship with PRTNRS, what is your first impression?

What you see is:

  • An overview of the latest added actions.
  • A branded lay-out based on the company colors.
  • A small introduction text.
  • An overview of 7 random users of the group.

New features

Thanks to the feedback of some hard working challengers we made a new features list. The functions below will be added in the next weeks. We already added some small features

Changing my state of mind

Guest post by Challenger Sandra Brandt

“I had an off day”. This little sentence doesn’t seem to influence your and my day., but it does. What if you could wake up everyday and everything goes as it should go. It’s your day, you are in the flow!

It’s there, the flow. Always! But you have to get it, but how?

Imagine that you can force yourself into flow. You just DO things instead of thinking about it, everything goes well, mind and body working together

That was my question, how do I get into this flow?

The first thing I tried was creating positive thoughts after each negative one. This way I could stop the negative cycle of thoughts. By doing this I needed to be conscience of my thoughts. The first days it was like some kind of meditative state and it’s result was a calmness I enjoyed for being in the moment. I felt the wind and heart the birds singing.

But there wasn’t any flow. Negative thoughts were rising again.

After doing this for some days, the beginners rush was over and I had to motivate myself to do it. Should I persist this way or should I try an other method?

I tried an other road. The attention to the negative thoughts made them bigger. Everything what gets your attention, grows. So I shifted my attention to the positive thoughts. This worked! For a couple of days. I was drawn to more positive things even my partner noticed it.

Several days later I got shortage of sleep caused my small (little) children. This was a turning point in my attention. How should I go further?

I needed help! And I got it on Twitter and mail. A whole need step for me, asking help for myself. And it was great! Of all the people joining the 30 days challenge-site, I was the one with the most support!

20 days left in my 30 days challenge and still not able to get the flow. I shifted my attention again. First my attention was to the negative thoughts, then at the positive and now I shifted to the flow itself.

Today I could CHOSE for flow. Just do, collaboration between mind and body. No disturbing discussions in my mind. Just by CHOSING? Is it that simple? Yes, just CHOSE for it!

My 30 Days of Barefoot Running

I’ve been doing some 30 Days Challenges before, but my Barefoot running was the first full public challenge. I’m done now and have a little pain in my achilles. But overall this challenge was great.

Some of my experiences

  • In the first two weeks it was very hard to motivate myself. I knew I had to go, but actually didn’t want to. Just putting on my clothes was the trigger to go, even when it was cold and raining.
  • After two and a half weeks I had a funny experience. If I was on my resting day, I wanted to go for a run, I was really looking forward to it. This is a feeling I never had before.
  • In my last week I was to active. I did and extra mile, but I shouldn’t have done this. My achilles reacted on it, and not in a pleasant way. If you go running, start slow, so you body can grow with you.

Bottom line: this challenge was great. It was physical and mental and I really started to enjoy running. Let’s hoop my achilles we heal in 2 days, so I can run again. Read my entire list of my Barefoot steps (some of them are Dutch).

I get lots of question if I really walk the walk on my barefoot. The answer is no! In the Netherlands you can run barefoot, but I don’t suggest you do because of little stones or glass. But there are shoes which simulate the barefoot specs, I just these ones.

Our new logo

The first logo was just text and a bit of a prototype. We designed a new one. We also added a tree as our image. A tree is the image of strong growth. Overtime it gets bigger and bigger. If you challenge yourself every 30 days, you’ll also get stronger and bigger.

30 days grateful

Only 4 days left for my Barefoot running challenge. I really started to enjoy running and I am looking forward to it, daily. My next 30 days challenge was triggered by this video from Moving art. I will be grateful for 30 days and will show gratitude for at least one thing/person/situation a day and take a picture of it.
